Peritoneal Mesothelioma
Peritoneal mesothelioma takes place in the abdominal cavity, potentially infecting the liver, spleen or bowel. Unfortunately, the prognosis is
a bit worse than for victims of pleural mesothelioma as the median survival rate is a scant 10 months.
As with pleural mesothelioma, pain is a common complaint. Fluid may accumulate in the ascites or abdominal cavity, enlarging the abdomen.
Symptoms during treatment may include nausea, vomiting, swollen feet, fever and difficulty in moving their bowels.
